Fresh Pears and Figs with Gorgonzola and Honey

Ripe pears, juicy figs and savory Gorgonzola are a perfect match making a simple yet elegant appetizer to throw together.

  • 3 pears, split and cored
  • 12 figs
  • 3 oz Gorgonzola, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


Cut each pear in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds using a melon baller or small spoon. Place pears on a serving dish spoon crumbled gorgonzola into hollowed out pears. Quarter figs and scatter around platter. Mix honey and balsamic together and drizzle over pears and figs. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top if desired.

Additional Tips

For a flavor variation try lavender infused honey or substituting blue cheese for gorgonzola.
