- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, cold, unsalted, cut into cubes
- 1 1/2 cups good-quality cherry jam or homemade
- 1 cup dried cherries
Preheat oven to 350 F. Position an oven rack in the center. Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add butter and blend on low speed until mixture resembles coarse meal and begins to form clumps.
In a medium bowl, combine preserves and cherries.
Press 4 cups of oat mixture evenly into bottom of pan. Spread cherry mixture evenly over top, leaving a 1/4-inch border on all sides. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until golden brown and jam is bubbling. Transfer to a rack and let cool completely.
