Cheese Fondue

  • 8 oz Swiss cheese, grated
  • 4 oz Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3/4 cup white wine


In a medium bowl, mix the grated cheeses with the cornstarch and set aside. Cut the garlic clove in half. Use one half of the clove to rub over the inside of the fondue pot. Finely mince the other half of the clove and add it to the pot. Add the white wine into the pot and start heating it slowly until it reaches a simmer. Slowly add the cheese mixture, stirring frequently as it melts. When smooth, add kirsch and serve with French bread.
