While we stock more than 700 varieties of cheese from all over the world, we’re anything but cheesy — in fact, we take our cheesemongering very seriously. Our cheese buyer shops the world for unusual and artisanal cheeses, many of them rare or unknown in the United States. Having so many options at your fingertips can be pretty overwhelming, so we’ve organized each cheese by country. Need more or less? We’ll hand-cut to the size you’d like to buy. New Three-Layer Cheese Arrives
A specialty from Provence, France, Le Provençal is a soft, layered goat cheese treat with flavors from olive tapenade and herbs de Provence. The bottom layer is created with a layer of plain , fresh goat cheese. A second layer of olive tapenade holds the bottom layer to the top layer of goat cheese flavored with savory "herbs de Provence". The texture is creamy and melting -the flavor is mild and delicate.
Each cheese is presented wrapped in paper and topped with an olive and an olive leaf.
Serve with Rosé de Provence, Chassagne Montrachet, Pouily Fuissé or a favorite Chenin Blanc.
