Texas Tango

Of course this genuine, Texas-made, August Foodie Find we love has a genuine Texas story we love. And it begins in church. The original Two Hot Mamas met in the pews of an Austin church a few years back and discovered their shared love for salsa. It wasn’t long after that they began dicing veggies in their own kitchens, creating unique salsas and dips for friends and family.

The Mamas created new, homemade recipes they describe as “Latin with a twist,” taking inspiration from the spicy cuisines of Baja, Argentina, and Mexico.

But, let us personally encourage you to think beyond chips-n-salsa, or even chips-n-dip. Instead of thinking of only snacks or appetizers, think of an entire meal. Two Hot Mamas Salsas and Dips can do for your favorite meals exactly what they can do for your best tortilla chip. For a start try the Mamas’ recipes with tacos, quesadillas, huevos rancheros, scrambled eggs, then get adventurous and dab this dip into pork, beef, lamb, over pasta, or with crudites.

Before you get creative, be warned. The Mamas’ Roasted Almond Chimichurri with Mint and Creamy Cilantro Salsa Dip are available in Medium heat and Hot, and the hot is not for the faint of heat, er, heart.

Find these Mamas in the Dairy section of your store.
