Our Cooking Schools are Here To Help You Through The Holidays

Don't get overwhelmed. Let our experts give you the confidence you need to create special treats, meals for your family and friends, and more this holiday season.

Our guest chefs and seasoned staff are standing by to help you ease into holiday entertaining and gift giving. In our hands-on classes, you'll roll up your sleeves and make everything from cookies to side dishes, desserts, and entire meals. Our staff will provide assistance, share insider's tips, show you time saving techniques and bolster your confidence as you perfect your skills - think of it as a trial run with a coach by your side every step along the way. We even do the shopping and the dishes!

We've also brought in some outside experts who will provide the same encouragement while introducing you to their own areas of expertise. Valerie Gordon, a self-taught baker who now owns several successful bakeries in Los Angeles and a popular on-line chocolate company, is touring our schools next week with tips on making the best home made, edible gifts.

She'll show you how to make delicious mango jam, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, muesli (for those interested in healthy options) and more. A copy of her beautiful, just-released book (featured in this month's Town & Country magazine) is included in the price of the class. Just think - a signed copy of the book and a bag of home made muesli tied with a beautiful bow. Check one gift off the long list.

Carrie Morey of Callie's Charleston Biscuits will be in our Dallas and Houston stores in early December to help you perfect your biscuit making skills just before the holidays. Tiny, tender, flaky biscuits make the perfect appetizer for parties or can complement your holiday meals. But she won't stop there. In her hands-on class, she'll teach you how to make a number of family favorites with South Carolina flair.

Anne Willan, the founder of La Varenne Cooking School, recipient of innumerable awards, author of over 30 cookbooks, and instructor extraordinaire will share stories of her fascinating life as our staff whips up specialties from memorable moments along the way. This is a class that will delight any foodie on your list! Copies of her memoir will be available for sale and she will graciously personalize your books for gift giving.

Lastly, many might equate "Bordeaux wines" with "intimidating" but Master Sommelier Guy Stout will introduce lucky participants in Ft. Worth and San Antonio to six value-priced selections and convince you that you should be serving them along with your favorite casual appetizers to guests this season.
