Learn to make a picture perfect – and perfectly delicious - pie with the help of the two inspired chefs who mastermind the blog Canal House Cooks Lunch and Canal House, the seasonal food magazine.

UPDATE: Due to the after effects of Hurricane Sandy (the authors who are still without power at their homes and workplaces), these classes have been cancelled. The beautiful cookbooks – the perfect gift for your favorite foodie – are available at the four cooking schools in which the classes were scheduled. Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton will show you how to effortlessly entertain during the holidays. With her background of working in the kitchens of Saveur, Martha Stewart Living and Cook's Illustrated, along with the experience gained as the founder and executive chef of Hamilton's Grill Room in Lamberton, New Jersey, Melissa brings a wealth of practical experience to the table. Christopher is equally adept in the kitchen, having served as the executive editor and founder of Saveur, a food and design editor of Metropolitan Home and an accomplished cookbook author. 

These two dynamos will introduce you to two appetizers that can be passed as hors d’oeuvre at a cocktail party or served at a sit down dinner and then demonstrate the techniques needed to create four delicious holiday pies. Join us for class and you’ll not only pick up tips from these pros but each registrant will receive one copy of their newest cookbook, Canal House Cooks Every Day, which is filled with seasonal dishes and beautiful photographs.
