Zester Daily reviews ‘Every Grain Of Rice’ by Fuchsia Dunlop

A recent article on Zester Daily includes a glowing review of Fuchsia Dunlop's latest book, the same book which she'll be teaching from in Dallas and Houston this coming month.

Fuchsia Dunlop has many fans among the foodies who work at Central Market. Several of us have been lucky enough to learn from this recognized expert and author of award-winning books on Chinese cuisine at seminars at the CIA in Napa. Not only were we inspired to cook more authentically, but we were fascinated by her conversational approach that included stories about local customs and the people she spent time with while living in China.

And as Zester Daily reviewed her latest book it is clear they are fans just like we are.  Following is an expert of the review: “Simple as the dishes are — and with few exceptions they are so basic that even neophyte cooks should be able to attack these recipes with ease — they remain authentic. .... Dunlop’s attention to the roots of each dish is one of the most refreshing things about this book. She doesn't speak generically about “Chinese food” — she tells you that a particular beef soup comes from Chongqing in Sichuan. Moreover, you get to experience her delight as she brings you along on a trip through her memories of Chinese dishes past and present, taking the time to explain why she loves them and how you should enjoy them as the Chinese do: with great enthusiasm.” The full review is available on Zester Daily.

Join Ms. Dunlop in our Cooking Schools for a fascinating evening and a demonstration of recipes you'll want to add to your repertoire.
