Franci Olive Oil


Asking our Olive Oil buyer Rex to pick a favorite olive oil is like asking your grandmother to pick her favorite grandchild, but after some days of pestering, Rex finally came back to me with his choice: Franci Olive Oil. Since 1958, the Franci family has made sure each drizzle of olive oil they produce is perfect. 

Founded by the brothers Fernando and Franco Franci, the Franci mill is situated at the top of the Tuscan hill town of Montenero d’Orcia. In 1995 Fernando’s son Giorgio joined the company, adding both enthusiasm and initiative, which, combined with the mill’s existing experience, has led to both national and international recognition in the form of many top awards and prizes. Hence the oils of the family Franci have written a story of success and absolute quality.

We are offering a few different olive oils from Franci during Passport. Here is a quick preview and some best uses for each:
  • Franci Bio: Frantoio Franci Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It is a medium fruity oil with a clear scent of olives, soft notes of ripe fruit and a slight herbaceous of artichoke. 
  • Toscano IGP: Highly versatile oil of medium intensity, for daily use and many food pairings. The protected geographical indication of IGP assures complete traceability of the product. 
  • Fiore del Frantoio: 100% Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It is an excellent value for the money and is ideal for every cooking use, from bruschettas to mayonnaise, from pan frying to a finishing drizzle on your dishes. 
  • Rantoio Franci: This extra virgin olive oil has a medium fruit flavor. Named after the company, it is the standard extra virgin of our production. All the typicality of our terroir for this oil with the Frantoio Franci quality guarantee. 
  • Le Trebbiane: Harmonious extra virgin olive oil of medium intensity, rich in grassy scents with a predominance of artichoke. It is an extremely versatile product, which pairs beautifully with many food preparations.
  • Villa Magra: This intense fruity oil is named after the traditional family olive grove and is the representative product of the company. With a sumptuos richness of bitter and spicy notes, this oil is the most exquisite essence of Tuscan style. 
  • Olivestra Seggianese: Light fruity, elegant, with a clear scent of olives, fresh and delicate. It is a single-variety olive oil very typical of the territory. 
  • Moraiolo: Single-variety olive oil of great structure and persistence. It has a full, intense taste with a superb velvety finish. 
  • Villa Magra Grand Cru: The most exclusive extra virgin olive oil of our production, only from the best fruits of the Frantoio “Correggiolo” variety in the Villa Magra olive grove. Extreme levels of complexity, intensity, and persistence. It comes in a limited production with numbered bottles.
