Celebrate the Return of Salmon to the Quinault River

Each September, when the rains return to the Olympic Peninsula, the Quinault Indians celebrate the return of wild salmon to their namesake river on the remote reaches of the Washington coast. Quinault families have fished for big, bright Silver salmon (also known as Coho salmon), King salmon, and Steelhead for hundreds of years, and in fact, the Quinaults are known as the Salmon People among the tribes of the Pacific Northwest.
